In an optimization project regarding DFDS’ propulsion system, we were selected as a supplier of our Performance Monitoring System consisting of Coriolis flow and torque meters. Our prior experience with a similar project for another shipping line contributed to DFDS’ selection of us as their partner.
Provide insights and data
In this project, our primary task was to provide DFDS with insights into their oil consumption before and after optimizing their propulsion system using our performance solution. Essentially, our solution should offer DFDS data that enables them to calculate the profitability of other planned propulsion investments.
Easier decision-making process
Our general Performance Monitoring System consists of data from our flow meters and torque, speed, and power from generators. Furthermore, the system is able to draw and log existing NMEA signals, e.g., GPS, anemometer, gyro, and echo sounder. By utilizing real-time ship data, our Performance Monitoring System streamlines DFDS’ decision-making process, providing a more tangible and accurate representation than manually gathered data, such as noon reports, or the experiences of chiefs on board, which can be difficult to transfer.
