We are pleased to announce that Insatech Marine has entered into a distributor agreement with Sensitron Srl, an Italian manufacturer of fixed and portable gas detection systems. As of July, 2026, we are an authorised Sensitron distributor for the global market - supplying ship operators, offshore installations, and industrial and commercial customers worldwide.
Expanding into gas detection
Adding Sensitron to our portfolio is a natural next step for us. Gas detection is a close complement to the condition monitoring, emission monitoring, and marine instrumentation products we already supply - and it is an area where we see clear demand from operators and facility managers across multiple industries looking for a single, reliable source.
Sensitron has manufactured gas detection systems since 1988 and has shipped over 12 million detectors worldwide. Since 2021, the company has been part of Halma plc, a UK-listed safety technology group specialising in hazard detection, health, and environmental monitoring. Their products carry ATEX, IECEx, SIL, and Marine Equipment Directive (MED) certification - the standards that matter across marine, offshore, and industrial applications.
What we now supply
Through our new partnership with Sensitron, we can now offer the following product lines with worldwide shipping from Denmark:
- SMART 3G series - Fixed gas detectors for Zone 1 and Zone 2 hazardous areas, covering flammable, toxic, VOC, and refrigerant gases
- SMART S series - High-specification detectors for demanding industrial and marine environments
- SMART 3 series - Fixed detectors for unclassified areas, including the SMART 3 Blizzard for refrigerant gas detection
- Control Panels - Gas detection control units for small and large installations
Where gas detection matters
Hazardous gas accumulation is a risk across a wide range of environments and industries. On board vessels, typical hazards include ammonia in refrigeration systems, hydrogen in battery rooms and fuel cell installations, carbon monoxide in engine and accommodation spaces, and refrigerant gases across HVAC systems. The same hazards are present in many land-based settings - chemical and process plants, food and beverage production facilities with ammonia refrigeration, parking structures and tunnels, offshore platforms, and industrial sites with classified hazardous areas.
Sensitron's product platform covers all of these gas types and installation environments within a single manufacturer framework - simplifying procurement, maintenance, and spare parts management regardless of industry or site type. MED certification also makes the range suitable for EU-flagged vessels where class-approved safety equipment is required.
