Portable Clamp-On Flow Meter deltawaveC-P

The deltawaveC-P is a clamp-on flow meter designed to measure liquid flow in filled pipes. In short, it operates by sending ultrasound through the pipe and the medium to calculate the flow velocity. This velocity is then multiplied by the pipe’s cross-sectional area to determine the flow rate. One of the key advantages of clamp-on technology is that it eliminates the need to cut or weld the pipe.

The transducers are mounted directly onto the pipe and transmit the ultrasound through it, making the measurement completely non-intrusive. This makes the meter especially attractive for the food and pharmaceutical industries, where strict hygiene standards apply.

Additionally, it is well-suited for measuring toxic or aggressive media that could otherwise damage instruments in direct contact with the fluid.

Quick Installation and Setup

Installing and setting up the deltawaveC-P is both fast and straightforward thanks to the user-friendly equipment and intuitive display.

The transducers (sensors) are mounted on the outside of the pipe using a Quickfix mounting kit (clamp-on).

The Quick Setup function then allows all necessary parameters to be configured within minutes.

High Measurement Accuracy

The deltawaveC-P combines the ultrasonic measurement method, 50–150 measurements per second, and advanced signal processing to ensure high precision - even under challenging measurement conditions. The flow meter can detect flow velocities as low as 0.01 m/s, making it ideal for leak detection in, for example, water and heating systems.

The built-in Auto-Optimizer function significantly improves signal quality, especially in difficult pipe and sensor combinations. This results in:

  • Fewer zero-point errors
  • Improved measurement accuracy
  • Reduced signal noise
  • Increased resistance to air bubbles, particles, and electromagnetic interference (EMC)

Even for simpler measurement tasks, signal optimization reduces zero-point errors and enables dynamic measurements with less variation in the measured values.

High-Temperature Transducers up to 380 °C

For high-temperature applications such as tar, thermal oil systems, boiler water, or various hydrocarbons in refineries, high-temperature transducers are the ideal solution. These transducers are designed to withstand temperatures up to 380 °C, making them suitable for demanding industrial environments.

Energy Measurement

Energy measurement is a standard feature of the deltawaveC-P. In addition to Systec Controls’ precise and easy-to-mount temperature sensors, existing Pt100 sensors installed at the inlet and outlet can also be used. With a temperature range from -40 to +150 °C, the clamp-on meter is well-suited for most heating and cooling system measurements.
