Up to 5 gases simultaneously
The Gas-Pro monitors up to 5 gases at once - covering all four standard confined space gases (O₂, flammable, H₂S, CO) plus a fifth sensor for an additional gas type relevant to the specific application. With 17 sensor options including NH₃, CO₂, Cl₂, NO₂, SO₂, H₂, and ClO₂, it covers a broader gas hazard range than the T4 and T4x.

Pre-Entry Check (PEC) mode
A dedicated mode for confined space atmosphere testing before entry. PEC mode guides the user through a structured pre-entry check, confirming that the atmosphere is safe to enter before any personnel go in. The optional internal pump allows the pre-entry check to be conducted from outside the space - without requiring a worker to enter to take readings.

Optional internal pump - diffusion and pump modes
The Gas-Pro operates in both diffusion mode (worn by the worker) and pump mode (for remote sampling). An automatic fail-safe flow plate recognition system means no manual switching is required - the detector recognises the flow plate and configures accordingly. Sampling tubes and accessories allow remote gas sampling from up to several metres away from the detector.

Top-mount display
The top-mount backlit display (green/red dual colour) makes gas readings immediately visible when the detector is worn on the chest or belt - without needing to lift or turn the unit. Designed for visibility in poorly lit confined spaces.

MED certified - EU and UKCA
Full MED certification under Directive 2014/90/EU and UKCA MED (MSN1874) - covering both EU and UK flagged vessels. The Gas-Pro is one of the most comprehensively certified portable multi-gas detectors for marine applications in the Crowcon range.

125 hours data logging
At 10-second intervals across 45,000 log entries - significantly more detailed than the T4/T4x's 130-hour / 3,500 event capacity. Suitable for applications requiring detailed gas exposure records for compliance reporting and incident investigation.

Pre-Entry Check Mode - What It Is and Why It Matters

Confined space entry is one of the highest-risk activities in industrial and maritime safety. Before any person enters a confined space, the atmosphere must be tested for oxygen content, flammable gas or vapour, and relevant toxic gases - and the results must confirm the space is safe to enter. This pre-entry atmosphere test is a regulatory requirement under most flag state, class society, and industrial safety frameworks.

The Gas-Pro's Pre-Entry Check (PEC) mode provides a dedicated, structured workflow for this procedure. Combined with the optional internal pump and sampling tube, it allows the atmosphere inside a confined space to be tested from outside - without requiring anyone to enter before the check is complete. The pump automatically recognises the flow plate and configures the detector accordingly.

For vessel crews, marine safety officers, and confined space entry supervisors managing regular tank entries, pump room access, and void space inspections, PEC mode removes ambiguity from the pre-entry testing process and provides a consistent, documented procedure that supports compliance with flag state and class society requirements.

T4x - four gases (O₂, flammable, H₂S, CO), Zone 0 / Category 1, MPS™ sensor for zero poisoning risk, 35+ hour battery with MPS/LLO2, UKCA MED certified (EU MED pending). The right choice for Zone 0 confined space entry and environments where sensor poisoning is a concern.

Gas-Pro - up to 5 gases simultaneously from 17 sensor options, Zone 1 / Category 2, optional internal pump, Pre-Entry Check mode, full EU MED and UKCA MED certified, 125-hour data logging. The right choice where gas hazard coverage beyond the standard four gases is required, where pre-entry atmosphere testing with a pump is a workflow requirement, or where detailed data logging is needed.

If your application requires Zone 0 approval, the T4x is the appropriate specification. For Zone 1 applications with broader gas coverage and pump sampling capability, the Gas-Pro is the stronger choice.
