The DIGI Viscometer from Parker, also known as the Viscotube, use the technique of the falling ball to measure the oil’s viscosity. When you buy the Viscotube a viscosity calculation software and a digital thermometer are included to help you get precise results.

The application of the Viscotube includes:

Acid Number (AN) (FG-K24743-KW)

The AN (acid Number) Test from Parker can measure both the weak organic and strong inorganic acids present in an oil. Any rise in AN indicates oil oxidation because of time or operating temperature.

Furthermore, the test is straightforward to use because of the drop test principle, which makes it simple for any crew members to interpret the results, including non-technical personal.

The AN Test is applicable to use with:

  • Turbine Oils
  • Gear Oils
  • Hydraulic Oils.

The DIGI+ Cell is built in a rugged and marine environment friendly design and are straight forward and very easy to use.

They come delivered with all necessary items to perform the tests, incl. reagents, syringes and sample cup.

The built-in battery will last for 5 years or 500 charge cycles, which is enough to cover the entire expected lifetime of the cell.

Reagent Packs

Maintenance Tips for Using Parker Kittiwake Test Kits

To ensure the longevity and accuracy of your DIGI+ Oil Test Kits, follow these essential maintenance tips.

The DIGI+ Cell, equipped with a color display, is designed to guide users through important test steps, including cell cleaning. After each oil calibration and test, cleaning is necessary. Follow these steps to ensure safety:

  1. Dispose of the contents with care.
  2. Thoroughly clean the DIGI+ body upper part and the sample cup (including the agitator for H2O testing). Make sure no reagent residue remains on the O-ring and threaded surfaces.
  3. Use a lint-free cloth to clean the exterior and keypad. If needed, use a mild solvent like isopropyl alcohol. Avoid using water, water-based cleaning products, or other solvents, as they may cause damage.

This cell is intended for lifetime use without the need for calibration or service - expected lifetime is 25,000 tests of 5 years whichever is sooner.

DIGI+ is built with precision components to ensure long-term measurement accuracy, eliminating the need for periodic recalibration. However, if quality systems or risk assessments necessitate accuracy verification, DIGI+ can be sent to a service center for accuracy checks and recalibration if necessary.
