Choose the right turbine model

The G Series Sanitary Turbine flowmeters are volumetric flow measurement devices. A rotor is suspended in the flow stream of the meter, so the moving fluid is used to turn the rotor.

The blades start spinning on the rotor and as the pass the magnetic sensor an AC voltage pulse is generated and transmitted to the readout instrument.

This means that each pulse is equal to a given volume of liquid. Thus, the number of pulses are equal to a gallon, litre, pound, barrel, etc.

The turbine is a precision measuring instrument, but for this work optimal you have to make sure that the turbine model meets your particular requirements. Look into the following three parameters, that;

  1. The flowrate is within the limits of your model
  2. The liquid is compatible with the turbine’s wetted components
  3. The system’s pressure does not exceed the turbine’s maximum pressure rating.
